PAEDO TEST

Paedophiles should be forced to take lie detector test before being released from prison, ex-  police chief says

1)      Acpo, which represents chief police officers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, said its Homicide Working Group advised police on the use of polygraph techniques.

Sexual predators are forced to take government lie detector tests every six months as part of their licence conditions after serving a jail term.

Polygraph machines are currently used to manage some some sex offenders after release, but Mr Gamble said he wanted to see them become “standard operating procedure” for all paedophiles, as part of a tougher release and parole regime.

Jim Gamble QPM, former head of Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP), said sex offenders should only be released after proving they are no longer a threat to children.

2)        Police have begun using lie detector tests on suspected sex offenders in a trial which could be widened.

Hertfordshire Police said it had been using polygraphs, which monitor heart rate, brain activity, sweating and blood pressure, during questioning.

The trial involved tests on 25 "low-level" suspects ahead of any charges being brought, the force said.
Paedophiles have been made to take government lie detector tests following their release from jail as part of a scheme rolled out in 2014.

3)       Studies have shown that when a well-trained examiner uses a polygraph, he or she can detect lying with relative accuracy.

... As much as we'd like a sign as obvious as a growing nose, there's no 100 percent reliable physical sign of telling a lie.
